The men I worked alongside or for in a NEWSROOM were definitely masculine – coupled with tolerance and objectivity to a great degree.
I would imagine that the BUSINESS types at the top of the heap at Chicago Tribune would be alpha males with an overabundance of testosterone. What sane woman would want to try to carve a niche for herself in the midst of that lions’ den? It would be akin to being the only woman in the U.S. House of Representatives. And look at how little was accomplished there in the term just ended!
