Despite their parent’s financial problems, the New Haven Register, Torrington Register Citizen and Middletown Press are redesigning and putting some former Hartford Courant talent into play.

Specifically, longtime columnist Susan Campbell will be writing a weekly column, as will Andy Thibault, who left the Enfield bureau years ago to go into business for himself. They join a long list of interesting voices,  including that of lawyer Norm Pattis, who is never shy about expressing his views on justice and Connecticut jurisprudence.

Susan often writes about religion, but will be politically oriented in her work for the JRC, says editor Matt DiRienzo.
