An update on Ron Georgeff from Larry Williams:

For those who haven’t heard, the latest news on Ron Georgeff is that he has pneumonia.

This is very good news.

“I’m ecstatic,” he told me.

How could pneumonia be a good thing?

It means something special is causing Ron’s breathing problems. Something curable. The alternative was that the condition of his lungs was simply deteriorating, and that there was nothing he could do except try to make the best of it.

Obviously, having pneumonia is far, far better.

He’s been on inhalation therapy and drugs to combat the pneumonia since Saturday, and says he’s feeling great. The plan still calls for his going to the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain for physical therapy to get his strength back and then go home. He’ll go when they have an opening, and he doesn’t know when that will be, although given his improvement, it should be imminent.
