A Courant Florida Connection

Tim Dumont reported in today.
He  was part of the buyout departures way back in 1995, and was part of the Graphics and Advertising departments back in the late 80s when the company was fat and happy.
Tim worked as an editor-writer on the State desk from 1969-1972 and in the Life/style department from 1972-78. ( “I was its first male staff member,” he reports.):
“I then became one of the founding members of the Graphics department under Phil Lohman, staying until I left The Courant in 1987. I returned in 1988 and joined the Advertising Art department — no editorial spots were open just then. I eventually was transferred to Special Sections (Advertising/Marketing) to become an editor. After several unsuccessful attempts to work my way back into the News department (anti-advertising sentiment prevailed in News at that time), I decided to take advantage of the buyouts in 1995.”
Tim eventually returned to news at the Bristol Press/New Britain Herald, where he worked for 11 years as a copy/layout editor/obituary supervisor until his retirement in 2008.
Tim moved in 2009 to Port Richey, Fla.,” where I am happily close to several relatives and spend my time reading, watching TV and growing older. I’m in reasonably good health for a heavyweight 71-year-old.”
Tim’s e-mail address is tim_dumont@yahoo.com.
