Journatic, the behind-the-scenes company that produces local news items for a bunch of Tribune newspapers, was the subject of John Dankosky’s Where We Live today.

Former Courant writer Theresa Sullivan Barger put in an appearance, observing that covering local news is how reporters used to learn their trade.
I wrote that the Tribune was not using Journatic materials, but apparently it is — on its website, anyway.
The Courant said in a statement that it did not use any Journatic items that were distributed under fake bylines. That’s a great consolation, I’m sure, to the many former local reporters who used to do this work.
