CEO Roulette

The  search for a new Tribune CEO appears to be underway, and if the rumblings can be presumed accurate (big if), the prospective new owners are looking for a TV person, not a journalism person.

This should come as no surprise, perhaps; but like everything else that has developed at Tribune over the last five years, it does not bode well for the company’s newspapers.  (Not to suggest that selling them off would necessarily be a bad thing for them.)

And an unrelated footnote: A panel of employment experts have voted “Tribune Spokesman” as the nation’s  easiest job. One only needs to memorize two words and repeat them to anyone who asks — “no comment.”
