Role – A writer is required to work directly with the 12 CT State Police Barracks to implement the CIDRIS project across the state of CT. The technical writer will act as the liaison between the CJIS Governing Board and the CT State Police Barracks, create system and training documentation, train, provide operational support and resolve issues for each of the 12 CT State Police Barracks.
· The desirable characteristics for this position are:

- The major responsibilities are:
- Authors, edits, rewrites, and authenticates technical design documents with flow charts, software development requirements, CJIS Quarterly reports, Legislative reports, meeting minutes, user manuals, application papers, product descriptions, data sheets, online product documents, interactive product tutorials and specification documents.
- Creates documentation in a clear and concise style in a fast-paced environment.
- Makes editorial and aesthetic improvements to documents and recommends new designs, layouts, and procedures.
- Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope.
- Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures.
- Effectively exchanges routine technical information.
- Actively engages with others to understand issues and gather necessary information.
