Former Tribune CEO Dennis FitzSimons is not named in this story, but he is among those who sold the company and walked away with millions of dollars, leaving behind a firm that was,  according to an independent examiner, insolvent from the moment it passed into its new owners’ hands.

Here’s an important story about the “dishonesty and lack of candor” of Tribune’s senior management at the time the company went private.
