Finally, a major media company spends some money and time to fix the horrible state of its online reader comments.

The answer, obviously, is to moderate the crap that typically flows unchecked onto the tails of online stories post by otherwise reputable news organizations.

Gannett, to its credit, is using the only technology that can effectively screen out the racist, sexist, and otherwise objectionable stuff the Troll Community can puke up. I’ve referring to live people reading and moderating the posts.
