Patch.com Adds Jeanne’s Firepower

Former Courant.com editor Jeanne Leblanc is on her way to New York City today as she starts a new job as a regional editor for Patch.com.  The company –owned by AOL — operates an expanding collection of online local news web sites in the Northeast  (wealthy burbs in New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts  and Connecticut, at least) and, I believe, in California .

They are apparently expanding in Connecticut again.

The Patch operation has added a lot of ex-Courant web firepower over the past few days. Marie Shanahan, Jeanne’s co-worker and right-hand sidekick, has signed on with the company, too. These two have a huge amount of news management and production know-how. It’s good to see them working together again, too.

John Ferraro, former investigative editor, is also an editor there.
