Looks like an L.A. Times pressman has been suspended for writing about events at the paper’s printing facility. There is a chance he will be fired, apparently.
This sounds like shades of Denis Horgan’s experience at The Courant, only worse.
I understand why a company might want to muzzle or punish an employee for revealing inside baseball, but think it is hypocritical of an information company.
Things being they way they are, however, makes blogs such as this one — that is, independent ones — especially useful in disseminating news and opinions that might put an employee in harm’s way.
