Two years ago, while in the midst of launching the Courant’s newly created iTowns section, I never would have expected to wind up on Page H7 of the Eastern Connecticut edition, but here I am.
I don’t know which has changed more in the intervening time — me or my former workplace, though I suspect it’s the latter.
In my case, the change from editor to culinary student has introduced me to a new world of talented people who care deeply about what they do and how they do it. Perhaps more importantly, it has taught me how to embrace change and enjoy it. (And how to properly dice an onion.)
The cutline of the photo, I’m sorry to say, does not identify those in the photo in the correct order. (I am republishing it here, without permission from The Courant, because it was taken with my camera.) I’m second from the right, for those of you who don’t recognize the beard.
The players, left to right, are my classmates Joseph Mott, Marc Cutler, Austen Lindberg, Patrick Sweeney, and, at right, our coach Chef Marc Hussey.
