Connecticut Politics, Merger Merge

The broadcast industry is getting a taste of Chris Powell commentary about his favorite subject — Attorney General Richard Blumenthal’s illogical stance on the Courant / Fox61 merger. (I mean the one that isn’t a merger.)

The Broadcast Union’s blog is excerpting Powell’s latest piece on the subject.

The AG is a joke yet remains the frontrunner in the race for Dodd’s Senate seat. 20 years of press conferences and “investigations” that either go nowhere or blow up in the faces of the taxpayers of CT, 20 years of hunting businesses as prey.
The media deserves a hit in here as well for barely following up on this guy and printing his press releases as gospel. Gombossy and Blumenthal have been joined at the hip for years.

Chris Powell is dead on. I’ve been told from people inside the building that employees of the TV station and newspaper have meetings. I’d say that’s part of a “merger” between the companies.
