Longtime veteran reporter Daniela Altimari is moving into the social networking universe by setting up a Facebook fanclub for the Courant’s Capitol Watch political column. I guess that’ll put the Courant on a more even basis with CTMirror.org, that set one a fan club a week or so ago.

Anyway, if there ever was going to be a good year for political journalism in Connecticut, this would be it. (Courant.com posted the most hits ever when the Lamont-Lieberman race played out. I don’t know if any subsequent event has prompted so much viewership.) Daniela, Chris Keating, Jon Lender and the remainder of the Courant reporters still on the payroll are some of the most experienced in the business; and I’m sure a little competition from their former teammates will only make them better.
