Testing The Sports Section

In his column today, Courant sports columnist Jeff Jacobs seizes on the issue of whether college athletic departments — UConn’s in particular — wish to become their own online propaganda machines rather than bother with indulging the local press, including The Courant.

It’s fallout from a piece out of Boston that the AP was circulating earlier this week.

Jake does a little survey of many of the Courant sports guys, including Desmond Conner and John Altavilla. The piece raises some intriquing issues and possibilities.

By the way, I’m giving you a direct link so you don’t have to click in via the main sports page, which has some really annoying sports audio that is hard to shut off.
