As many refugees know, Steve Courtney’s book, “Joseph Hopkins Twichell, The Life and Times of Mark Twain’s Closest Friend,” won the Connecticut Book Award. Steve’s friends are organizing a party in his honor at the Half Door in Hartford on Nov. 14, starting at 7 p.m.

Any and all friends, Courant staffers, ex-staffers and otherwise, are welcome. 

 Steve researched and wrote the biography during the day for years, then came to work at night and edited Courant stories with a deft and graceful hand. Let’s celebrate.
