This from Nick Caito of Fox 61:
A benefit concert for the Morrin Education Fund is coming up Saturday, Oct. 17, at The Warehouse- 45 Bartholomew Ave, Hartford.
Tickets are $10. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9. Kids under 21 are welcome, but need to be accompanied by a parent.
Alice Morrin was an employee of WTIC Fox 61. She was killed in an incident of domestic violence June 28. Her two daughters, ages 10 and 14, were home at the time. The Morrin Education Fund was set up through Rockville Bank to help pay for their future educations.
The benefit show features three local bands – Bronze Radio Return, Columbia Fields, and Forward Motion. The bands feature a blend of bluesy funk with a hearty dose of danceability,
much in the vein of Maroon 5 and Ben Harper, and others. Bronze Radio Return and Columbia Fields have also been featured on the Fox 61 Morning Show, were winners of the Advocate’s Grand Band Slam, and also get local airplay at 96.5 WTIC-FM.
For copies of the flyer please contact Nick at morrineducationfund@gmail.com.
All the proceeds will go to the Morrin Education Fund.
