Generous Donor Pays For Refugee Conference Seats

An anonymous donor has generously asked The Refugee Camp to administer the distribution of five free registrations to the upcoming Yale Law School  conference: New Media Ecology.

The donor asks only that those who take the free admission attend for both days, Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14, so the $75 admission is not wasted. The event is in New Haven, obviously, and lasts until 5 p.m. Saturday. Refreshments are included.

This looks to be an important session where some deep thinkers from all over the country examine ways to preserve local news reporting and investigative journalism in the face of the mainstream media’s ongoing decline. It also might be a good networking opportunity for those of you former mainstream media employees who are still looking for work that pays more than $12 an hour.

Anyone who would like to attend should contact me, so the appropriate arrangements can be made. If someone would like to attend and report to other refugees via this blog, please consider yourself invited. Maybe a car pool could be arranged, too.
