Hartford Courant columnists Helen Ubinas and Susan Campbell are doing more than writing about the city’s problems. They are literally going to put in time cleaning it up. They’ve organized a community clean-up day – they call it a Garbage Walk — for Hartford’s Garden Street and cordially invite all former and current Courant people to be there.

The event is Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. Parking is available at Veeder Place, on the corner of Garden and Sargeant streets. Here’s the official garden street flyer.
