Couldn’t Be Happier

The New York Times is the latest to look into what the future might bring for the top ranks of the Tribune Company. The short version: Many of the top managers could remain even after the company emerges from bankruptcy. Even Sam might stay, though it sounds as though that is far from certain.

Quoting from the story, “… people briefed on the matter said the major creditors were not unhappy with the current team. ‘They’re pretty pleased with the way things are running,’ one said.”

Yeah, we’re pretty pleased, too, except for, well, everything.

(By the way, a close reading of the story will reveal how junior creditors have really been left holding the bag in this whole sorry episode.)
