George Gombossy’s abrupt departure after 40 years at The Courant continues to make waves. Sounds like he and his lawyer also plan to make a few more.
Turns out that in addition to killing his Sleepy’s column, the bosses also edited out the part of his farewell column explaining his departure.** I suppose that’s a logical follow-up from suppressing a report on an attorney general’s investigation of an advertiser.
Denis Horgan spotted this column.
I imagine Monday’s Romenesko will take note, too.
**This is not exactly true. See George’s correction in the comments.

That is not exactly correct. Since I knew The Courant would not let me say I was fired, i did not put that in THe Courant’s version, i put it into mine. So I caused the confusion.
But what The Courant did promise me is that if I wrote the last column they would allow me to mention my personal email so people could contact me. Anyone see my personal email address in the courant version GGOMBOSSY@Gmail.com
We’ve picked this up, too.
