A Death In The Family

Our hearts go out to former Middletown Bureau Chief Joe O’Brien, Hilary Waldman and their family following the death of Joe’s mother, Caroline.  Services are Saturday in Winsted, the O’Brien family’s longtime home.

Unanticipated Ricochet

The Refugee Camp shows up in the least expected places. In this instance, it adds a little volume to the chorus opposed to the Tribune Co.’s multi-million dollar bonus plan now before the bankruptcy court.

Columbia His New Environment

David Funkhouser, a former Northeast Magazine editor and Courant environmental writer, will be attending Columbia University for a one-year MA program in science/science writing. It starts in September. I’ll add his new contact info to the roster.
