Ouch. Ex-Courant Exec Nicked For DUI

Joe DeLuca, the Courant ‘s former production director, got himself in a little trouble with the law. Since he is now the Tampa publisher for the St. Pete Times, it made the news. DeLuca is contesting the charge. What is it with publishers and alcohol, anyway?

He’s All Business

Sam Zell says he has no emotional attachments to his assets. That’s as it should be, of course. It would be nice, though, if he had a grain of interest in preserving the news industry’s role as a protector of democracy and good government.

Local News Is The Victim

The new CEO of NPR.org says local news has been the biggest victim in the nation’s media meltdown. Of course, her definition of local isn’t as local as mine.
