Some ex-Courant reporters may know Amy Jeffries, who used to work at WNPR. She is now editor of a fledgling online news operation covering New Canaan (see the previous job post). It is part of a larger constellation of publications called Patch.com, which appears to be expanding into the state. (There are a number of sites serving middle- and upper-middle-income communities in New Jersey now.)
Here’s what Amy has to say about the job possibilities:
Yes, Patch.com plans to expand to many many communities in Connecticut and around the country. New Canaan Patch is the first site to be launched in Connecticut, but it will be quickly followed by a couple of others covering towns in Fairfield County which will likely also be needing stringers in Hartford. Journalists interested in editing future sites should definitely send an application to Patch.com.
