Anyway, we were so absorbed in the Shelly Sindland saga that we almost overlooked this — another example of why more and more Americans hate big business, including big journalism businesses. Not very likely that Tribune will be emerging from bankruptcy anytime soon.
Even at a day old, this story is a must-read. I’m sure the Courant was scrambling yesterday with a hostage situation in progress and a leaner staff, but today they put one of their best people on the Shelly Sindland story. Additionally, the company took the unsual step of issuing a statement.
