Friedman’s Advice

MarketWatch’s Jon Friedman has some advice for Sam Zell.

Friedman acknowledges that, when it comes to the advertising slowdown hitting newspapers and magazines, times are tough all over.

“The difference,” he says, “is that the quality of Zell’s publications has deteriorated more seriously than that of his rivals. Zell should give his journalists a break and sell the company to someone who appreciates good journalism.”
