Innovation Department Take Note

If innovation is going to be the key to the Tribune Co.’s survival, it’s going to have to get better reviews than this news reader being distributed by the LA Times.

This, perhaps, is the problem when you want innovation from an outfit that’s been decimated by layoffs and “reorganizations” and “right-sizing.” The innovations tend to fall short.

Perhaps the first innovative move ought to be to come up with a way to re-invigorate and reinspire the staff. It’s a tough task on the deck of the Titanic, but, in the best management-speak, “I’m sure you can do it if you are creative and innovative.”  (My two cents: talk alone will not do it. Action is required, and perhaps an self-inspired innovator to lead.)

This gizmo, on the other hand, might have some potential in replacing the delivery truck.
