So now the marketing department in Chicago is surveying readers’ preferences on stories that haven’t yet been published.
Which would you rather read:
A. A story about American Idol
B. A story investigatingĀ the governor’s hiring of an illegal alien housekeeper
C. A story about the upcoming sale of the Chicago Cubs to China
Some folks are worried that the marketing department isĀ moving into the news room. Sheesh. Is this the new “cutting edge?”


The only thing I’d rather do less than read a story about “American Idol” is watch an episode of it.
