… at least she’s jumping, rather than being thrown overboard.
Here’s Bonnie Phillips’ announcement to the news staff:
It is with mixed feelings — happiness for her, sadness for us — that I say that Jodie Mozdzer is leaving The Courant for a job at a nonprofit news website.
Jodie first came to The Courant as an intern fresh out of college. After her internship here, she went to work at the Waterbury Republican-American for a brief time before being hired at The Courant.
Although she’s only been with us for a little more than a year, she’s been a constant presence in the paper. She’s become an expert on education and on the Hartford schools, especially. She did an enlightening, entertaining and informative multi-part series on Hartford’s new schools. She’s taken on Superintendent Steven Adamowski and his less-than-forthcoming spokesman, David Medina, more than once. She wrote the definitive story on the 20th anniversary of Sheff v. O’Neill.
Her last day is May 8.
