What We Know Is Bad, What We Don’t Is…

I don’t even want to contemplate what all the possiblities and implications here are. The timing of it all leaves the Courant’s new publisher with a lot of  ‘splaining’ to do. He does some in this story, at least.

Not the best way to kick off the new administration, for sure.

Interestingly, the Topix string on this is still alive at this time. We’ll see how long that lasts. In the meantime, the new publisher will get an idea of the great public service his trailer park is.

And here is the story Fox 61 didn’t report. It’s the one that got all over the world. We now know who the “friend” referred to is.

Maybe that explains the last sentence in the laurel”s earlier account of just the two-fer:

News organizations from Kansas City to New York to the United Kingdom ran the story of a woman from South Windsor, Connecticut who was arrested twice in 3 hours for DWI. Well, she’s the Manager of Marketing & Public Relations for Fox61 television and certainly there were discussions in most Connecticut newsrooms about how to treat the story. Most mentioned it. Except for Fox61. From what we can ascertain, there was no story run and in fact, a memo went out to members of the news staff telling them not to talk about it.

The publisher deserves an extra bonus for having to deal with an exceptionally difficult situation.
