What’s left of the two cultures of the Hartford Courant / Fox61 Shrinking Empire will get to co-mingle, mix and interact Thursday and Friday in the Courant’s Thomas Green Room. (Historical note for Fox 61 folks: Thomas Green was the first general manager/anchorman for WCOR-TV, founded in 1774. Unfortunately, the station never got on the air, due to technological difficulties.)
Here’s the official announcement, but I hear they have gone ahead without court permission and added a new incentive — ice cream sandwiches:
Bringing the operations of the Harford Courant and Fox 61/TXX 20-TV together under one roof means more opportunity to collaborate across the organization. On Thursday, April 23 from 1 pm – 5 pm and Friday, April 24, from 9 am – 5 pm, the Thomas Green Room (TGR) is the place to be to get better acquainted with our new leader, colleagues and the floor plans showcasing the many changes taking place throughout the building. Rich Graziano and several other colleagues from both The Courant and FOX 61/TXX 20 – TV will kick off this two day event on Thursday, April 23 with an hour long meet and greet starting at 1:00 p.m. for all employees. Multimedia educational presentational materials also will be available over the two-day period in the TGR outlining the Hartford Courant’s and WTIC/WTXX’s business/products.
