Proof Of Claim II

This might begin to explain the mailings we all got…

Earlier this week, Tribune, and its subsidiaries that filed for bankruptcy protection, began mailing “bar date notices” to potential creditors and current employees.  Included in the mailing sent to current employees was a cover letter from Gerry Spector that explained why they were receiving these materials and what to do with them in the event they feel they have a claim. Unfortunately, it appears that the outside vendors handling the mailing made some mistakes in the process and some employees may not have received the cover letter.

A copy of Gerry Spector’s cover letter is attached for your reference; it is also posted on the company intranet, TribLink.  Please take a moment to read it and, if you have questions regarding the bar date notice or claim form, feel free to contact the Chapter 11 hotline at 888/287-7568.  We have also attached a list of frequently asked questions regarding the materials.

Finally, some employees may receive multiple bar date notices and claim forms in the mail.  This is perfectly normal and the result of an employee being associated with more than one Tribune entity or having different types of potential claims.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
