Carlos Cunha sends this post from the Seattle Post Globe, an online paper started by refugees like us, only from the Post-Intelligencer.
“It’s a volunteer effort like the one I tried in vain to agitate for amongst our crowd,” Carlos says. “It’s probably too late in the day for us now, with our state checks running out soon, but it’s good to see that others got their act together and really did it.”
Two points to add: It’s never too late to consider such a project here; and, isn’t there a federalĀ extension on the state checks?
And this, about the slow extinction of the paper dinosaur, from the Christian Science Monitor.

I saw the Alumni post today about the online paper in Seattle. I’d certainly join such an effort. And I’d want to write, not just edit. If journalism jobs come back, the first people who get them will be writers. I’d want to be one of them.
