   Note that the NAA president said newspapers must stay in touch with their audience and work with readers. At the Courant, the new motto is apparently “I did it my way” — or “Meus via vel altus via (duodeviginti centum mille lector peto abyssus).”

   “And now, the end is near;
   And so I face the final curtain.
   My friend, I’ll say it clear,
   Ill state my case, of which I’m
   certain… I did it my way.”
