Our Buddy Jim K. In Hospice Care

A memo from the Courant’s Graphics Director Melanie Shaffer reports that longtime graphic artist Jim Kuykendall, who has been battling pancreatic cancer for some time now, is being moved to a hospice in Branford.
“Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers,” Mel writes. She also supplies this information:

If you wish to send flowers or a card, please contact:

The Connecticut Hospice

I am not publishing Jim’s home address, but can supply it to any of his colleagues who ask.

This is terrible news. Jim has been a tremendous colleague for so long. His curiosity, news judgment, ability to research complex topics and create informative and entertaining graphics always made The Courant a better read.
We’re all thinking of you and your family, Jim.
