Matthew Moser, who took over the Thursday night Chinese food order from me years ago when I went on days, is now in the regrettable position of asking whether there are enough night copy editors left to merit an order.

The copy desk Chinese food order is a tradition that dates back as far as Ann Applegate, the night news editor 15 or more years ago,  and perhaps further.

Of course Matt does have a new advantage caused by the evisceration of the night staff: the company cafeteria stopped serving dinner.

That should send a few new Chinese food customers Matt’s way.
