This from Kate Farrish:
Folks,
I’ve decided to take a buyout after 24 years at The Courant. I leave Friday. My plan is stay at home with my youngest daughter and do some volunteering and a bit of freelancing.
Keep in touch everyone.
My two cents’ worth:
This is another loss of truly exceptional leadership, institutional memory and journalistic integrity. Anyone who has ever worked with Kate Farrish knows that she a strong and principled woman who shares her time and knowledge generously with her team. I wish her the best of luck at whatever she pursues, and pity anyone who gets in the way of her accomplishing her goals.
Oh, and welcome, Kate, to the Refugee Camp. Here’s her personal email address for those of you who want to keep in touch: katefarrish@live.com

Good luck, Kate. You’ve been a great friend and colleague, and I wish you all the best.
A great editor and a great friend. Good luck Kate!
Kate,
The Courant’s loss is your family’s gain. Keep me in mind, if I can ever be a resource for you. All the best.
Greg
