I have a little bit of good news for one of the dearly buyout departed, that being me (of course).

I have been hired on freelance basis by NESN.com to be their Red Sox game blogger this season. I will write the game previews, then blog the games live, doing the home games from Fenway and the road games from the comfort of my couch. The pay is so-so, but it’s a six-month gig, keeps me plugged in with the team and could lead to future work with NESN down the road.

I’m on my way as we speak to Fort Myers to do a handful of freelance stories for Otto, and feed my new blog with live stuff from Sox camp. And best of all, I finally received today all the back pay the Courant owed me for December and January. Maybe I should go play Lotto.
