A Word From A Former Co-Worker

Hi,

I’ve been in touch with a few of you since news spread of the impending departures from the Courant, and have intended to contact many others of you … please forgive the group message.

While some of you are leaving for other ventures and some don’t yet know what’s ahead, I hope you all do know what fine journalists — and friends — you’ve been to many of us who’ve passed through the Courant over the years. You’ve all made a huge difference.

You include fellow reporters with whom teaming on stories was a pleasure; wry, wise origination and copy editors who’ve saved us from embarrassing corrections; writers who’ve brought sports to life for those of us Monday morning quarterbacks …

Don’t forget the features folks whose voices leap right off the page (yes, Greg, that’s you!); photographers whose images propel our stories to great play; researchers who’ve added depth to our work with their behind-the-scenes digging; and a reader representative whose wisdom and grace remained intact in what must have been incredibly challenging circumstances.

I’m damn proud to have worked with each and every one of you. Please never hesitate to contact me if I can be of any professional or personal help.

Regards,

    Stephanie Reitz
