Greetings Hartford Courant employees and soon not-to-be employees:
This is the first entry in a so far crude but functional site intended to enable you to communicate among yourselves, keep from losing touch with each other, and make yourself available to potential employers who might be interested in the talents and skills of a once-great (and now, not so great) newspaper.
Please feel free to comment as you wish, send in news of your progress on the “outside,” and perhaps alert your fellow refugees to job opportunities.
Pix of your life in the wild are also welcome.
As administrator of this blog, I will try to maintain order as I learn to use the controls. (I can tell you it’s more complicated than a backhoe.)
Please spread the word among your Courant and former-Courant friends.

damn if you couldnt run a pretty fine newspaper with the class of july 2008 alumni…
david gibson, class of oct 98
I’m from the class of 2002. I left on my own. I regretted it later on. But looking at what’s happening, I have since decided it was the best move I ever made.
This is Dejavu of the Hartford Times and I truly believe that it’s only a matter of time when 285 Broad Street will be nothing more than a memory and an empty building.
You guys are THE BEST in the business and the paper didn’t win that Pulitzer on their own. Without you, I predict the paper won’t last more than 3 years.
That corporate troll Zell should be shot. He’s a greedy bastard that was looking to make a quick buck.
The newspaper USED to be one big family. Now it’s nothing.
I would like to thank Paul Stern for his guidance in the proper “triangle” writing and his support and faith in my ability.
Good luck to you all. It’s tough out there. I wish you all well.
Love,
Donna
